Air France Increases Fuel Surcharge on Long-Haul Flights
As the price of fuel has soared, Air France is increasing
its fuel surcharge by 11 euros per segment, on long-haul flights
only. This increase, valid on tickets issued as from 11 October
2004, will be withdrawn as soon as the price of the barrel
goes below 40 dollars for 30 consecutive days. However, the
surcharge on the domestic and medium-haul networks (Europe
and North Africa) remains unchanged. |
| As zero commission
approaches, CWT is prepared
As of 1 January 2005, the zero commission will be introduced
in Switzerland.
Following airlines announced that they will introduce the
new price model from 01 January 2005: SWISS, American Airlines,Iberia,
Air France, KLM and BritishAirways
Other airlines of the respective alliances (Star Alliance,
oneworld, SkyTeam) will follow within a short time.
Zero commission - what does this mean? Up till now, airlines
always gave travel agents a commission of up to 7%on tickets
sold, which partly covered the travel agents' costs. Travel
management companies charged a fee to customers with management
fee contracts, but passed the airlines' standard commission
on to customers. This commission has now been cancelled.
For each customer segment, CWT has developed suitable solutions.
Small and medium-sized businesses, for example, will benefit
from the CWT standard product "Corporate Select",
while with larger clients, individual agreements will have
to be made to remunerate agents for the costs incurred when
booking flights.
CWT is well prepared for the changes and by the end of
the year will have made the necessary agreements with all
our clients. Information on the latest developments are
obtainable from the CWT Account Managers and the Branch
Manager in your local CWT agency. |

SN Brussels Airlines will offer daily flights to Sevilla
as from this winter season
Thanks to a new codeshare agreement with its Spanish partner,
Iberia, SN Brussels Airlines will offer daily flights to
Sevilla as from this winter season. In addition to the 4
direct flights already operated by SN to the heart of Andalusia,
additional flights to Sevilla - via a smooth stopover

The city where the first tapas were cooked up has one of
the most pleasant climates (more than 20 degrees in winter)
and was the décor for Bizet’s opera “Carmen”
as well as the birthplace of Flamenco. Sevilla counts among
its monuments one of the most beautiful squares, a famous
arena, the splendid Real Alcazar palace and the largest
Spanish cathedral... Sevilla is the ideal European destination
in the SN Brussels Airlines network for those who want some
winter rest combining mild climate and cultural attractions.
As from the winter season, SN Brussels Airlines will make
travel to the heart of Andalusia easier. Thanks to a new
codeshare agreement with Iberia, Sevilla is from now on
daily accessible from Brussels. SN operates 4 flights a
week to Sevilla with an AVRO RJ . The other flights will
be operated by Iberia via a smooth stopover in Madrid. This
daily flight is ideal for long weekend breaks and the schedules
perfectly meet business passengers’ needs. |
