KLM BlueBiz: innovative loyalty programme for companies

This way both travellers and companies benefit: BlueBiz is the new bonus programme from KLM, which allows you to collect both miles and company incentives with every flight.

KLMs BlueBiz is a bonus system that has been created especially for companies. BlueBiz is simple and free of charge. The company receives Blue Credits for any flights with KLM or a partner company connected to BlueBiz, and from the very first flight onwards, with no need to achieve a minimum turnover first. And whilst the company benefits from Blue Credits, the traveller collects miles for the KLM frequent flyer programme, Flying Dutchman at the same time. This means: in addition to the Blue Credits credited to the companys account, every traveller receives FD miles for his/her private miles account as well.

With the accumulated Blue Credits the company can purchase Award Tickets on the full range of flights with KLM (and on codeshare flights). One Blue Credit is worth one Swiss Franc. Blue Credits are only valid for the full purchasing price (no partial payment). It is possible to book Award Tickets at the BlueBiz Service Desk (0848 556 222) only. Alternatively, the credits may be used to acquire the attractive KLM PLUScard. With this card (available for 220 Blue Credits), the holder has access to over 100 KLM lounges as well as those of Northwest Airlines in the USA. Convenient check-in at the Select Class resp. Business Class counter is included. Flights with KLM, Northwest Airlines and/or their partners as long as at least one KLM flight number is on the itinerary count for this loyalty programme. Very important: for every booking made in your CWT branch, enter your BlueBiz number (company) and Flying Dutchman number (individual traveller), so that Blue Credits and miles can be registered. Credits cannot be made retrospectively for administrative reasons.

Become a member for free
You register with BlueBiz via internet: www.klm.ch (under BlueBiz). Each company receives a BlueBiz number that is valid for all employees. With every booking, the company gets so-called Blue Credits. The number of credits received depends on the distance flown and the booking class. Your account status can be checked online at any time. Companies that already have an incentive programme with KLM unfortunately may not take advantage of BlueBiz.

50 Blue Credits to get you startet
For new members booking a first flight with KLM by 30 April 2004, there are 50 Blue Credits to get you started.

Directory 2004 - the whole world of the Steigenberger Hotel Group at a glance

With six new hotels and an updated brand portfolio the Steigenberger Hotel Group is launching its new 2004 Directory. Over a total of 112 pages the Frankfurt-based hotel group presents 79 hotels in Germany, Austria, Egypt, Holland and Switzerland and bids farewell to the two brands “Maxx” and “Esprix”. The directory sees the introduction of a new destination - Munich - and the welcome return of Dessau und Halle-Neustadt.

The new Steigenberger Hotel Directory 2004 has just been published in its successful compact pocket format. The Steigenberger Hotel Group uses a combination of text and pictures to present its portfolio at a glance, and is written in both German and English. This year’s edition serves an additional purpose: it communicates the new brand strategy, which comes into operation from 15th April 2004 and concentrates on the successful brand-duo of Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts and InterCityHotels.

The Steigenberger Esprix and Steigenberger Maxx concerns in Berlin-Potsdam, Celle, Deidesheim, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Frankfurt-Langen, Hahn, Jena, Speyer, Zingst and the Austrian city of Linz have already been integrated into the two key brands in the new Directory. Thus, the Directory 2004 presents 50 hotels from the Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts brand and 29 InterCityHotels. It also introduces the new company logo of the Steigenberger Hotel Group.

Apart from the revised brand structure there are other noteworthy changes to report in the Portfolio:
The Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Frankfurt is back in business with a new five-star rating following major renovation and extension work. The Steigenberger Hotel Metropolitan in Frankfurt opened in September 2003, and in January 2004 it was also awarded a five-star rating for the first time. With three new InterCityHotels in Düsseldorf, Munich and Hamburg, the hotel group has increased its presence in Germany’s main cities. Dessau and Halle-Neustadt are now also represented following the re-opening of both the Steigenberger Hotel Fürst Leopold and the InterCityHotel Halle-Neustadt.

A foldaway map on the inside cover of the new directory gives a quick and practical overview of all hotel locations. The hotels are listed in alphabetical order according to their location. Each hotel then has its own page with text and photograph. The individual presentation of each hotel is subdivided into five categories: Location, Rooms, Gastronomy, Facilities and Wellness.

As well as indicating the main features of each of the 79 Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts and InterCityHotels, the Directory also contains information about future openings and projects, the Steigenberger Award Programme, corporate rates within the Steigenberger Business Programme, and special child concessions. Furthermore it tells the reader about partnerships with the frequent flyer schemes of international airlines, whereby Steigenberger guests are able to collect air miles during their hotel visits. The Directory directs readers to two websites, www.steigenberger.de and www.intercityhotel.de, and to the central booking service offered by Steigenberger Touristik Service. It ends with a general list of addresses for Steigenberger corporate sales and a list of booking lines for SRS-WORLDHOTELS.

Swiss: BA collaboration extended to Geneva-London services
Swiss is to offer all its services between Geneva and London as codeshare flights with its partner British Airways. The closer collaboration forms part of the bilateral cooperation agreement recently signed by the two carriers. The new arrangements will be introduced in two phases: from February 24, all British Airways flights to London (Gatwick) and all British Airways CitiExpress services to London (City) will be operated as codeshares with Swiss; and from the start of the 2004/2005 winter timetable on October 31, British Airways will assume operating responsibility for all services between Geneva and London (Heathrow), which will be offered as BA/Swiss codeshare flights.

British Airways (BA) will operate eight daily frequencies between Geneva and London (Heathrow) from the start of the winter schedules on October 31. All these services will be offered as BA/Swiss codeshare flights. The four daily Geneva-London frequencies currently operated by Swiss will be withdrawn. With three further frequencies to London (Gatwick) and the three flights to London (City), Swiss customers will thus enjoy a broader range of 14 services a day between Geneva and London’s three airports.

British Airways currently offers thrice-daily service between Geneva and London (Gatwick). Under the new codeshare agreement, Swiss will now also serve London’s second airport. And London (City) returns to Swiss’s Geneva schedules, thanks to a new codeshare arrangement with British Airways CitiExpress.

The new codeshare collaborations will thus offer Geneva-based customers both a broader and a more varied choice of services to and from the UK capital.
