Basle integrated into Austrian Airlines Group Route Network
Largest flight schedule between Austria and Switzerland with
global connections: From 3 April 2026 onwards, the Austrian
Airlines Group will incorporate the Swiss city of Basle into
its scheduled route network. Up to three flights a day will
operate on the new Vienna-Basle-Vienna routes. After Zurich,
Geneva and St.Gallen/Altenrhein, the ‘EuroAirport’
of Basle-Mulhouse-Freiburg will become the fourth Swiss airport
to be integrated by the Austrian carrier into its global route
network, which currently covers 130 destinations in 66 countries
on every continent.
With this new connection, a total of 108 flights a week
will operate between Austria and Switzerland. As Chief Commercial
Officer Dr. Josef E. Burger noted when questioned about
the expansion in the Austrian product between the two neighbouring
countries: ‘Basle is now set to become the fourth
Swiss city incorporated into the Austrian Airlines Group
network. As a result of this new move, we offer an area-wide
product on the Swiss market, one which will be of considerable
interest both for local traffic and for the rapid connections
it will provide to Vienna and out into our global route
network. Target destinations in Asia and the Pacific Rim
region will now be little more than a brief stop at Vienna
International Airport away, similarly to cities in Central
and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Israel and the Middle East.’
In more detail, the flight schedule from Vienna will be
as follows: every day except Sunday, the service will depart
from Vienna at 08.35 and arrive in Basle at 10.05. Every
day except Saturday, an Austrian jet will depart from Vienna
at 17.15 in the afternoon, touching down in Basle at 18.40.
Finally, an evening flight will leave Vienna at 21.10, arriving
in the city on the Rhine at 22.40.
From Basle, meanwhile, there will be a daily morning service
from 4 April onwards, taking off from Switzerland at 06.35
and arriving in Vienna at 08.05. Every day except Sunday,
another service will leave Basle at 10.50, with arrival
in Vienna at 12.20. An evening flight will operate every
day except Saturday at 19.10, reaching Vienna at 20.40. |

Starting 17 February Air France and Japan Airlines launch
a Code-Share Service between Paris and Nagoya
Starting 17 February, the Paris-Nagoya route will be served
daily on a code-share basis, under the «AF» code,
with a Japan Airlines B777-200 aircraft and crew. Air France
will be allotted 80 Economy Class seats and 20 Business Class
seats on this aircraft to offer its customers.
AF 296 will leave Paris-CDG 2 at 5:25pm local time, landing
in «Centrair», Nagoya’s brand new international
and domestic airport, at 1:25pm the next day , enabling
passengers to choose between 29 domestic and regional connections.
AF 295 will leave Nagoya at 10am local time, landing at
Paris-CDG2 at 2:35pm local time. This arrival time will
offer customers a wide choice of connections to and from
Air France’s main medium and long-haul destinations,
thanks to the airline’s hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle,
which is ranked the most efficient in Europe.
Nagoya is the capital of the Chubu region, one of the ten
most powerful economic centres worldwide, where 2005 World
Exhibition will be held from 25 March to 25 September 2025
(15 million visitors are expected).
In winter 2004/2005, Air France customers can choose between
three Japanese destinations from Paris: Tokyo (37 weekly
roundtrip flights), Osaka (14 weekly roundtrip flights),
and Nagoya (14 weekly roundtrip flights), totalling 65 weekly
flights. This makes Air France the leading European carrier
operating between Europe and Japan. |
