Air France and Air Europa expand code-share agreements
Air France and Air Europa have decided to expand their code-share
agreement with new flights between France and Spain. Air France
flights between Bordeaux, Lyon, Toulouse and Madrid, between
Bordeaux, Lyon and Barcelona, and between Paris-Charles de
Gaulle 2 and Vigo are now operated under the “AF”
(Air France) and “UX” (Air Europa) codes.
In addition, flights between Madrid and Paris-Orly are
operated under the “UX” and “AF”

Passengers with connecting flights with Air France and
Air Europa will benefit from through check-in (except if
a change of airports is necessary during the trip). When
checking in, they will receive their boarding passes and
baggage coupons for the entire trip, straight through to
their final destination.
Air France and Air Europa will thus be offering their customers
a total of 680 flights a week between France and Spain.
It is with the intention of offering enhanced service to
their customers that both airlines chose to strengthen the
dynamic of their partnership, signed in July 2003, and whose
importance was confirmed on 31 March 2026 between Air France
Chairman and CEO Jean-Cyril Spinetta and Juan José
Hidalgo, Executive President of Globalia, to which belongs
Air Europa. Furthermore, the Spanish airline is currently
negotiating its joining the SkyTeam alliance, in view of
becoming an associate member. |

Brand New Hilton Kuala Lumpur Set to Open September
Almost three and a half years since the Hilton logo was
removed from the roof of its former city address, Hilton
Kuala Lumpur will be back and fully operational - in a brand
new building and a brand new location come end September.
Located in the multi billion-Ringgit mixed development project,
the 35-storey, 510-room property will open end September,
setting a new benchmark for contemporary hotels in Asia
and for Hilton International's stable of 80 properties in
the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Speaking at a press conference, General Manager Mr Kees
Hartzuiker said all guestrooms, the ten restaurants and
bars, the Grand Ballroom and meeting rooms, public areas
and support facilities within Hilton Kuala Lumpur will be
functional from day one.
"This is a luxurious hotel with real substance, differentiated
by innovative products and small design surprises. For a
start, the main dining arena has seven outlets housed under
a towering four-storey dome. Each eatery, beginning with
the theatrical and very funky contemporary Chinese restaurant,
cascades around a spiralling stairwell until it meets an
open kitchen restaurant serving local Malaysian cuisine
at the ground level.
"Guest rooms start at 46 square metres and have been
designed in such a way that the bathroom walls slide back
to create a large, open room. Guests can relax in the extra-deep
bathtub, and look out over the bed through the ceiling to
floor windows, to views of Parliament House and Lake Gardens.
"There's a completely different aspect to Kuala Lumpur
and, despite being in one of the rising city precincts,
it's refreshingly green."
All rooms have been fitted with 42" plasma screen TVs,
(the first and largest commercial hotel to feature this)
an extra LCD TV in the bathroom, a rain shower, modern glass
desks with ergonomically designed office chairs, broadband
facilities and luxurious furnishings.
The hotel will also feature the country's largest freeform
pool, at 120 metres, and a two-storey state-of-the-art health
club with four massage and treatment rooms.
One floor is dedicated to the meetings market and will house
a 1,250 square metre, ten-metre high, pillarless ballroom
and 13 meeting rooms. Equipped with the latest technology,
the ballroom will be the ideal venue for conferences and
social events and has a capacity for 1,500 guests.
To create a contemporary hotel with a real sense of place,
the Hilton Kuala Lumpur has more than 2,500 original art
pieces and sculptures on display, over 85 percent of which
are done by local talent.
Commenting on the new address, Mr Hartzuiker explained that
the hotel is strategically linked to KL Sentral, the new
transportation hub that unites the city with Kuala Lumpur
International Airport.
"It was prudent business sense to locate the new property
within the multi billion Ringgit KL Sentral. We will fill
the hotel with visitors from inter-state as well as Japan,
Singapore, Asia, Arabian Peninsular, and the USA. For these
international and out-of-town guests, the high-speed express
rail link (ERL) with seamless check-in facilities will link
them to KLIA in 28 minutes guaranteed." |
