SRS-Worldhotels’ Gourmet Promotion Showcases: World-Class
Dining At Member Hotels Around the Globe
Travelers with a taste for fine cuisine can pair an
extraordinary dining experience with great weekend hotel
rates worldwide. SRS-Worldhotels’ new Gourmet Promotion
celebrates the remarkable restaurants - honored with
Michelin stars and other international-caliber awards -
at 80 hotel members of this global sales, marketing and
reservations organization. Through May 2005, the promotion
offers room rates reduced up to 50 percent for weekend stays.
In Chile, the Bristol Restaurant at Hotel Plaza San
Francisco (Deluxe Collection) is a prime example of
culinary artistry. Over the past decade, no other hotel
in Chile has won as many awards. The Bristol was the sole
Chilean restaurant to win three different gold medals awarded
by the Chilean Gastronomy Association (ACHIGA), and has
earned international prizes from a variety of tourism publications.
In addition, the Chilean government regularly taps The Bristol’s
talented team, led by Chef de Cuisine Rodriguez Guillermo,
to cater official functions and banquets. Here, gourmets
not only enjoy superbly prepared Chilean specialties -
they also receive the recipes so that they can recreate
their favourite dishes at home.
The Alla Rocca Hotel in Bologna Bazzano, with a
history stretching back to the 18th century, is a trendsetter
in terms of style and la dolce vita. A member of the SRS-Worldhotels
First Class Collection, this hotel places great value on
tastefully combined elements, such as fine antiques and
Art Deco accessories, in its interior design. The Alla Rocca,
listed in the current Michelin Guide, specializes in the
renowned cuisine of Emilia Romagna. Its specialties include
“Tortellini Dorati”, which are prepared according
to the original recipe created in 1796. Other culinary highlights
include a nightly wine sampling held in the historic ambience
of the restaurant’s 18th century tavern. The restaurant
also plays host to visiting 2 master chefs, who teach guests,
through a variety of seminars, how to create culinary delicacies
themselves.
The Sir Stamford at Circular Quay in Sydney also
enchants its guests with extraordinary culinary delights.
This five-star hotel in the heart of the city's business
district has received multiple culinary and other awards.
The Australian Hotel Association has rated The Dining Room
restaurant “highly recommended.” Led by Chef
Ken MacDonald, it specializes in Australian cuisine and
has won numerous gold medals at the Sydney Culinary Challenge.
Artistry on the plate, such as Chocolate-Nougat Cake with
warm Fruit Compote, is complemented by the collection of
18th and 19th century paintings that grace the Dining Room’s
walls.
