New from Basel: Venice
From 1 July to 22 August SWISS will add Venice to its route network, operating four weekly flights between EuroAirport and the gateway to the popular vacation region of northern Italy.

Venice becomes the tenth destination that SWISS serves from Basel with its own equipment.
Turkish Airlines is the most rapidly expanding airline company in Europe
with a fleet of 133 Airbus and Boeing aircrafts. Today the flag carrier of the
Republic of Turkey is the number four in Europe and transported 26 million passengers
in 2009. During the upcoming three to five years the fleet will be extended
with up to 65 additional planes. By the end of 2015, the number of single aisle
jets in the fleet of Turkish Airlines will increase to 155 and the number of
twin aisle aircraft will rise to 36. The total number of aircraft in the fleet
of Turkish Airlines will reach to total of 196 aircraft, 5 of them cargo airplane.This
investment will assure the continued growth of the global network. At the moment
Turkish Airlines flies to a total of 154 cities around the world and offers
excellent connections from Europe to Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Air passengers of the Czech national carrier will be excited to learn
about the true pleasures on board. The Czech Airlines executive chef de cuisines
have revised the catering concept and created new and innovative menus and snacks.
This not only means a higher standard and bigger portions for all meals in the
travel and business class but also the offering of a considerable increased
variety on fresh fruits and vegetables.
Our guests will also have the opportunity to select from a bigger range of free-of-charge soft drinks and alcohol. It goes without saying that also our passengers on short distance flights will receive our first class service and will be offered an exquisite selection of cafeteria delicacies.
On May 13th 2010 TAM Airlines has officially joined the Star Alliance,
the largest commercial airline alliance, integrated by 26 airline companies
in the world. The Brazil airline opens the South-American market for Star Alliance
thus Brazil being the economic centre of the continent and therefore the biggest
and most important market for business and leisure travel. Once a Star Alliance
member, TAM will be able to share products and services among over one thousand
destinations of 175 countries served by the alliance nowadays.
Excellent news for business travellers: the TAM Fidelidade loyalty program will be integrated with all the Frequent Flyer Programs of the Star Alliance members. With TAM Fidelidade frequent flyers can easily collect points and bonuses. Passengers get free flights independently from the distance within South America, after collecting 10.000 points and without waiting for a special flight. Frequent flyers choose date and time and issue the bonus ticket at least seven days before their departure.
