Guoman Hotels’ five-star flagship hotel, The Royal Horseguards,
joined the Preferred Hotel Group in December 2009. The Royal Horseguards will be
one of only two London-based hotels in the Preferred Hotels & Resorts
portfolio, a luxury collection of 185 exceptional and exclusive hotels and
resorts worldwide. The Royal Horseguards has successfully passed a scrupulous
inspection of the property and its services, all of which have benefited from a
multi-million pound investment since officially joining the Guoman Hotels
collection in February this year.
The invitation to join the Preferred Hotel Group further highlights The Royal Horseguards’ five-star standing. Guoman Hotels expect the partnership to drive international business through the Preferred Hotel Group’s global network.
The Royal Horseguards’ general manager Jon Beecroft commented: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be part of the Preferred Hotels Group; it underlines all our hard work in striving for the highest possible standards of service for our guests.”

Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces is at home in India, with 64 of
its 100 hotels spread out across the country. In the meantime, Taj Hotels have
expanded to key international destinations including New York, Boston and San
Francisco. Other international destinations include Sydney, London, Dubai,
Malaysia, the Maldives and Bhutan. In December 2009, Taj Hotels opened its first
hotel in Africa: the Taj Cape Town, just in time for the FIFA World Cup.
A highlight in 2010, eagerly awaited by many, is the re-opening of the historical Heritage Wing of the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower in May. Pursuant to damage from the attacks of November 2008, the Palace rooms will be available for bookings soon. The grand suites and their themes are awaited with great anticipation.
The Taj Hotel brand is now also home to “The Gateway Hotel” group, which consists of 26 hotels in India. These are to be found in key cities of India and provide a premium hotel experience in contemporary styling.
