Swiss mobile boarding pass and mobile check-in more
American Airlines: More efficient aircraft more
A journey through the world of Lufthansa products – now online in our Product Showroom more
Besides Web Check-in passengers can now check-in and receive their boarding pass via their internet-enabled mobile phone by SMS or e-mail. The mobile boarding pass contains the 2D-barcode and all relevant flight details in plain text. Consequently, there is no need anymore to print out the boarding pass.
This enhancement combines with other e-travel features – such as entering API data (where relevant), checking in and selecting a preferred seat from the convenience of your home or office – to eliminate waiting time at the airport and the need for a printer. In other words, all stages of the SWISS check-in process can now be completed electronically on the way to the airport.
Airports with mobile boarding pass and mobile check-in
Check-in with baggage for web and mobile checked passengers is also possible; passengers simply have to hand over their bags at the separate counter at the airport. The mobile boarding pass is also valid at document checkpoints, lounges, tax free shops and at aircraft boarding.
American Airlines has obtained a total of $2.9 billion in additional
liquidity and new aircraft financing, and has announced plans to strengthen its
network by reallocating capacity to hubs in Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Miami
and New York, while enhancing its fleet to better serve customers.
The $2.9 billion consists of: $1.3 billion in new liquidity, including $1 billion in cash from the advance sale of AAdvantage™ frequent flyer miles to Citi and $280 million in cash under a loan facility from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) secured by owned aircraft; and $1.6 billion in sale-leaseback financing commitments from GECAS for Boeing 737s previously ordered by the company. Regarding fleet renewal, American selected GE's GEnx-1B 74/75 engine for American's future 787 deliveries. The company's progress with upcoming 737 deliveries and 787 engine selection are the latest examples of its commitment to renewing its mainline fleet with more efficient aircraft and improving its product offerings.
