03.02.2012: Malév grounded flights
Malév Hungarian Airlines has stopped operating and grounded all its flight. According to the news the suppliers of Malév had lost confidence in the airline and started to demand payment, while the government could no longer provide cash injections for the company.
According to the Government Regulation as of 31 January the Hungarian State will provide indemnification and help according to certain rules for travelers whose Malév scheduled flights would be affected. Details from the regulation:
- indemnification and help can be provided for those travelers who have purchased their air-tickets on Malév flights before the outage of its scheduled flights and
- the air-tickets are valid for travel on the day and for three more days after the operation of the flights were stopped
- or for those travelers who have already flown to their destination on the day or before the flight was cancelled and the date of their travel back is valid until 29th February.
