05.01.2012 | Air France KLM credit card surcharge

As part of its costs efficiency program, Air France KLM has decided to introduce a credit card surcharge, effective for all sales channels as of 12 January 2012. The surcharge will apply to all tickets issued in Switzerland on all booking classes.

The amount of this surcharge will depend on the destination:

  • CHF 9 per ticket for journeys within Europe,
  • CHF 18 per ticket for intercontinental journeys.

No surcharge will apply on Contracted Corporate Net fares.

The surcharge is already integrated into the interfaces of the reservation systems (GDS). Consequently, it will be handled automatically by the system, when a ticket is issued. The surcharge is aimed at reducing distribution costs and not at creating additional revenue.
